Alder Lake is a mature carp lake dating back to the 1960s. It is set in the centre of 150 acres of Limousin farmland and trees. Check out the aerial view and you’ll see there are no roads, railways or pylons close by, it's an ideal venue for carp fishing holidays. Alder lake is set in the centre of France, but thanks to the great motorway network it is only 5½ hours from Caen

The lake is 10 acres in size set in a natural bowl between fields and woods, you would be hard pressed to find a better location for your carp fishing holidays. Alder has the basic facilities needed for drive and survive; Toilet block with Canadian WC (Sun-Mar), and a seperate angling lodge with cooker and kitchen facilities. A short walk up the hill at the farm are shower facilities and fridge freezer.

Alder carp lake has been stocked up over several years to ensure a sustainable population of healthy fish. The final stocking has been made at the end of 2009 and the 220 fish now range from high teens to forty lbs. The lake has been only lightly fished and anglers comment on the hard fighting action. As well as the Royale carp there are grass carp and catfish.
